I asked myself this morning,

Why is it so hard to create in this world?

And I really thought about this one

I realized it is because so many people are creating for the world and not themselves.

I believe the best art, the best writings, the best paintings, the best music… the BEST art was created strictly through self expression. No thought about what people will say or how to get more people to like it…

Just self expression!

Art is supposed to be fun and for me writing is supposed to be fun. I have found it to be getting draining once in a while and I realized that is because I have been so focused on writing for the world and trying to self express at the same time. AND then I was trying to create writings that were unique. Nothing unique will come from writing for society and the world. You HAVE to create for yourself. So YOU can remember your feelings and experiences, so YOU can heal, for YOU. Because one day people will forget and if they remember you won’t be thought about long. But your experiences and how you feel are more important than people’s short attention spans. Create something you can read back, listen to, look at, or use when you are old… so you remember.

Create for you and share your art to inspire others to do the same. I remember being young looking at famous paintings in class trying to interpret them. Each student had a different perspective and the artist’s real meaning was hard to understand. This to me is real. The artist has created something from the soul in which they don’t even know the true meaning because sometimes there isn’t one. They were just EXPRESSING! And this is the art that makes one really think, it doesn’t need an explanation because there may not really even be one.

I wish we let children create more. Without boundaries or explanations. We just told them to create. To draw, write, or create anything. Creativity might be my favorite thing, I don’t think we understand how special it is and how easy it is to lose it in our world today.
